Goodbye Jake
I apologize for not blogging for five days.
I got back from school about ten minutes ago and soon as I checked my Twitter, I realized that Padres ace, Jake Peavy got traded to the White Sox. Apparently, so much things can happen when I’m not surfing on the Internet.
OH HELL NO. Jake Peavy is officially gone. I’m sick, and feeling like crap. We got four pitchers from the White Sox and I don’t even know who they are. They asked Jake couple of months ago if he wanted to get traded and he said no. In a second attempt, Jake said “yes” and he left for his own good. I completely understand his words and actions but it’s so hard to deal with it. Jake was our ace and he made records, histories, and shared us, the fans, laughs and memories here in San Diego. He will be missed so much as he leaves San Diego, for now.
Jacob Edward Peavy was born on May 31, 1981 in Moblie, Alabama. Jake was developed by Padres’ minor league system after he got out of high school. He did not go to college at all. In June 2002, he made his major league debut as a Padre against the Yankees. As the time went on, Jake got better and better everytime when he came on the mound to pitch as a starter. In 2004, he lead the NL in ERA by only being in the Majors for three years.
2007 was a hell of a year for Mr. Peavy. He was selected to go to the All-Star Game that was held in San Francisco along with former Padre Trevor Hoffman and currently injured Chris Young. Jake was a key player that forced the team to play one game in the postseason against the Colorado Rockies on a Monday night in October 1st, 2007. This is also known as “Game 163: Falling Short” I love that season so much. Except that horrible and sad game. Jake was absolutely stellar and the team was on a roll. He was a very key player that britghtened up the 2007 club.
Unfortunately, 2008 season was not the one to even think about. Padres struggled and Jake had a rough season with a record of 10-11. He had an issue with an injury as well. Hitters could not support Jake at all. To make a long story short, 2008 is a forgetful season for him, the fans and rest of the players.
Today, July 31st, 2009, my favorite pitcher Jake Peavy, has left the house. He’s been with this team for eight years. EIGHT! He will be very, very missed and I wish him for the best as a White Sox. Jen, you should be absolutely thrilled to have him as a part of the team.
Tributes
Dear Jake,
Thank you so much for all the great times you had here, in San Diego. The day I first heard your name, I didn’t exactly know who you are. But now, I am becoming a big fan of you every single day. It has been a rollercoaster ride during your eight-year career as a Padre. There were definitely ups and downs but all the fans appreciated you for having you to even pitch wearing blue, white and sand. It’s is truely devistating that you have officially left us and I am definitely upset about this. I understand the choice you made and it was a right thing to do for you. In life, there are obstacles and you have overcome “dangerous” ones. In off-season, refusing to go to Chicago as a Cub made me so happy. Since they were really close to acquiring you, I hate them even more.
About two months ago, the White Sox were having a serious talk about you. First shot for them didn’t work since you refused the deal. They made a second shot today and it worked for yourself and the clubhouse. The word “trading” makes me have goosebumps, tears and frustrations. I love my San Diego Padres and I care for every single players. If even one of them leaves San Diego behing, it will make me very disappointing. When I heard that you got traded to Chicago as a White Sox, my heart almost got torned into pieces. I got the same feeling when two great players Trevor Hoffman and Khalil Greene left almost at the same time. They were my favorites to watch ever since I became a fan. Now the same situation got carried towards me again. Heartbreak, tears, they all came back. I’m not the girl who cries for another person, except my family and friends. I don’t even cry a lot! Baseball and San Diego Padres are two things I am most passionate about and I had no option but to have teardrops coming out of my eyes. Call me a freak but this is what the die-hard fans have to do.
I don’t like trades. At all! Watching favorite players leave is absoluetely shocking. Baseball has trades and baseball is business. Which makes trading a business as well. You chose to leave the Padres organization, I’m OK with it. Since we don’t have the money to keep you as long as we want, you made a wise choice. Jake, you are a fighter and you always want a win. I mean, every players do. But you are one of the most aggresive (in a good way) pitcher I have ever seen in my life. When you threw the pitch you do not want, I see you barking at yourself to stay focused and get the work done. That is something other players have to learn from you. Jake, without corrective lenses, you are legally blind. That is one of the tough obstacle you have overcame and inspired so many people who have disabilities which makes them not eligible to play baseball or other sports. The ability to handle that situation without struggling made everyone love you! It’s so unfortunate to not have a chance to see you pitch in games I attended. One day I will go to a game that you are pitching as a White Sox or coming back as a Padre, in some way shape of form. Your song, “Sweet Home Alabama” is the perfect one for you and I love it.
Jake, you are off to a brand-new chapter of your career. Have a great time with the White Sox and I wish you nothing but a best. I am defnitely looking forward to see you in a new uniform, when the Padres play aginst your new team. Who could forget Jake Peavy? NO ONE. I will not forget you until I die. You are a one hell of a player and I always love watching you on and out of the field. Every single San Diego Padres fans and players will miss you.
By the way, you are a sweet boy from Alabama with a cute accent
Goodbye Jake. I’m gonna miss you so much. Have fun in Chicago!
Love,
Hyun Young
*Note*
The Brewers are in town right now for a three-game series against the Padres. That means all-times saves leader Trevor Hoffman will be back at Petco Park! Wow. Trevor is back and Jake is gone. This is so bitter-sweet. But I am super excitied to see Trevor back in San Diego, where he truley belongs. I missed him so much and I want to give him a big hug, if I can.
Interleague games are not Padres’ friends
I have so much things in my head that needs to be in my blog right now. I will even give out progress report during the last three games later but I will mention some as this entry goes on. And I’m not giving good grades to favorites. Being fair is the key, folks.
N.L. vs. A.L. in middle of the season is a punishment. Unless it’s All-Star games and World Series. Padres have a tendency to lose whole bunch of games when they are playing against American League teams. Last season interleague series were a total joke. Friars lost twelve games in a row during June, and got swept by the Yankees, Twins and Mariners, three each. They totally embarrased me that I didn’t even know who my team is!
Summer games are supposed to be fun for every baseball fans. Especially when it’s vacation for me and interleague series take place in and out of San Diego. Well, interleagues SHOULD be fun! Since games against A.L. are now taking only half of my summer vacation, it’s not going to be fun as it should be. (My vacation used to be from mid-June to entire August! I want my summer back though. It got short like a scissor cutting a paper into half.)
It’s a good idea to be playing against other league more than three series in middle of the season, but it’s not so good for the Padres. I’m pretty sure they know it too. Unless, they like to lose instead. Interleague began not a long time ago. Ok, more like on Friday and I just want this whole thing to be over already. I’m that desperate.
The three games against Angels this weeked were really, really devestating. I don’t feel like talking about it but I’m thinking way too much. Padres made a frown in my face for three days straight. They just could not play solid baseball at all. Both Padres and I are just so confused and feeling blue. I can’t believe the series ended in a terrible way.
Angels totally damaged us by outscoring 26 to 7 for last three games. My brother had his own party going on today. It’s no surprise that the Padres got swept at Anaheim. Pitching for the Padres was like watching a scary movie at midnight.

Surprisingly, the bullpen did a fine job not giving up ton up runs. It was starting pitchers who did the huge damages and broke other neighbors’ windows. All Chad Guadin, Josh Geer and Chris Young’s performance disappointed me. On my previous post, I mentioned about him giving up like eight runs and ten hits in three innings. I give him a D- with that lousy performance on the mound.
Josh Geer did pretty much the same thing yesterday. He lasted short and gave up seven runs with three homeruns. I say a D. Josh Geer is a very nice guy who wants to be in the big leagues throughout the season, but he really needs to go back down soon.
Chris Young will definitely not be sent town to Triple-A, but he has a homework to do, that is to control his pitches, don’t throw so many pitches and settle down. This is exactly the opposite of what he did today, Chris Young made his shortest outing of the season and surrendered five runs in only little over two innings. He even allowed four straight walks to force in a run. NOT GOOD Chris. You deserve a D as well.
It’s tough being a Padres fan. Honestly, sometimes I wonder why I follow this team. They are struggling both offensively and defensively, below .500 and ace is injured. Get well soon Jake! We really need you.
Where was I? Oh yes, I need to hand the Padres thier grades now. This progress report is only for the last five games in Los Angeles and Anaheim.
1. Tony Gwynn Jr.: A-
He’s been playing good against the Dodgers. He led off in first inning in both games against the Dodgers. Against the Angels, he wasn’t as good as he should be.
2. David Eckstein: B+
Yes, I didn’t give him an A. He hitted behind Tony and reached bases safely in two games. Eck just got a single and a double in three games against the Angels. Thaf is so unlike him! I hope he can bounce back again.
3. Brian Giles: B
He’s been ok. Not good and not bad. He knocked in few runs against the Angels but didn’t do much of great things.
4. Adrian Gonzalez: B
It’s not entirely his fault that he didn’t hit any homeruns in nine games now, Pitchers are still walking him more and not giving Adrian a chance. When he doesn’t get walked, he usually struck out or just got out in five games. On Sunday, he had three hits in four chances.
5. Kevin Kouzmanoff: A
He was having fun and not his teammates. Kouz had two homeruns and knocked in couple of runs. He’s doing a great job right now and if he can keep it up, he’s going to do fine. I’m not worried about this guy unlike some players.
4. Chase Headley/Edgar Gonzalez/Henry Blanco/Wil Venable/Luis Rodriguez: C-
Their performances are just below average right now. Enough said.
5. Starting pitchers except Kevin Correia on Wednesday: D-
Like I mentioned before, they have been terrible on the mound for last five games. I was so embarassed by their performance. What were they thinking? They lasted so short and the bullpen had to help them. That is something starting pitchers should not do when they are running a game. So do me a favor and please step up.
So to some this whole thing up, Padres are really struggling right now and need to step it up in some way shape of form. Monday is an off day, which the Friars need it so badly and will host the Seattle Mariners on Tuesday back at home. Padres willl avoid their three game losing streak and a sweep and the Mariners will try to stop theirs. It will be very interesting to see what my boys can do to come back.
Triple Threat
1. I’m sick… Again! So my entry will be shorter than ever.
2. Padres’ ace Jake Peavy was placed on DL yesterday. Jake’s ankle had been bothering him since May 22. Man, it sounds very painful! The reason he is out of the starting rotation is due to partially torn tendon in the right ankle.

They say that he will miss at least one month but the Padres’ trainer said last night it might take eight to 12 weeks before he can pitch again! Let’s just say that Jake can’t pitch for 12 weeks. That means that he wouldn’t be returning until mid-August or heck even September.
This is a serious injury for him and I just hope that he can survive the pain that’s haunting him still. It’s a huge loss for the Padres and us, the fans. We lost Jake and a huge part of the ballclub.
So that means the rotation will shake up a bit a lot. Jake was actually supposed to pitch today against Joe Saunders. Since the 2007 CY Young Award winner will not be on the starting rotation, Josh Geer will be on the mound tonight. The question is that who will take his spot? Maybe everyone who are in the rotation could bump up one spot and get a new pitcher to be a number five starter. Or heck even our best bullpen can be the starter, I mean if it’s possible. But I do know this: Do NOT put Josh Wilson as a pitcher.
Jake, please rest that ankle and get better soon!
3. Unfortunately, the Padres lost to the Angels last night. Trust me, it was an ugly game to watch, listen, and think about. Chad Guadin didn’t pitch very well, like that’s surprising.
(What the hell are you doing man? You totally missed the ball.)
His performance last night got flushed down the toilet. Eight runs and ten hits are NOT good. Especially in only three innings. At least Kouz was able to help by getting three hits. Pitching was pathetic (yes, I said pathetic) for the Padres and offense was pretty average. The final score at Anaheim was 6 to 11. They just had to lose when I started to get sick again. My brother got sick too so he didn’t have and energy to rub it in my face. (He’s on the featured blog so I’m very happy for him!)
Well at least we got our starting shortstop back from DL. We just need to have Evereth Cabrera back. I’m sorry. Josh Wilson needs to go!
Since the Padres lost, they dropped to fourth place in the NL West, now behind the Rockies who are doing a really great job right now.
Speaking of Rockies, I go to Petco in 35 days to see the Padres play against Colorado. By the way, I will be seating in great seats! Kaybee, we will be seating in 109 field box. And I sent you a wrong picture and sorry for keeping high hopes up for a long time now. You might want to check out the new picture. I hope it isn’t bad as it looks.
Nice win boys!
Especially a game like this, my boys deserve a pat on their backs. Jake Peavy looked great on the mound as usual. Although he had difficulties with his right ankle a liitle bit an got a cut on his left middle finger, he didn’t make a huge fuss about it. I love Jake. He’s a competitor and guys who are focused and looking for a victory everytime they are on the mound always wins. In this case, Jake totally deserved the win.
When a pitcher throws great like that, he definitely needs an offensive backup. Kouz was able to do that for Jake. Kevin didn’t start off great by flying out to right-center field and grounding into a double play. But he really concentrated and got his job done very well. He was responsible for four runs for the Padres. Without his bat, we could’ve lost. Doing a little math, the real final score which is six, minus four will be two and the D-Backs scored three.

Great job Kouz! Now why don’t you celebrate with Adrian now?

Speaking of Adrian, he batted third on this game. As most of the Padres fans know, hitters who bat behind Gonzo really struggles by hitting below .200 but Kouz dramatically changed that stat.
Adrian, Adrian, Adrian. He got walked three times on this game. Now the pitchers know what to do when our best hitter is up: walk this man. Is it just me or are the opponent pitchers really afraid of Gonzo still? My goodness. I really want some long balls from him now! No pressure on you man. You’ll do this for us, the fans, very soon. I just know it.
David Eckstein was a part of this so I was happy. He hit a sac fly to bring in a tying run to the plate in the fifth inning.
Devistating D-Back
Eric Byrnes missed the ball from Padres Josh Wilson so Byrnes was really, really, really mad which I defintiely approve. I just HATE this guy, no offense to Arizona fans. He needs anger management issues and calm down when the littlest things happen that makes him upset.
Are you freaking blind!?
Jake was obviously upset at the second base umpire. It was the most bu**sh** call ever! Eric Byrnes wanted to steal to second. Ok. I’m ok with that. Catcher Henry Blanco threw it the ball to Josh Wilson and got Byrnes out before he touched second base. Well apparently, the ump needs to get better glasses or get new contacts ’cause he called Byrnes safe when Wilson got him on the hand AND shoulder. The ump still called him safe. ARGHHHHHHH!!!
I was really mad to hear that stupid call that wasn’t even true. Josh and Jake were the ones who were most frustrated out of the bunch. Umpires haven been getting on my nerves lately. They make calls that are not even true!
Goin’ to LA
It’s time…
to face the Dodgers. You know, this game should be fun instead of sad. I’m confident that my boys will do the similar things to such as come back when they are down by couple of runs, great pitching and offense, no errors, you get the idea.
Chris Young will take care for the Padres and Chad Billingsley will do his job. It will be a very interesting game to watch.
Awards
At 6 o’ clock, I went to my school to be a part of the 8th grade Award Asssembly. In the end, I came back home with seven awards in my hands which included President’s so I was very pleased with that.
Fun fact: For perfect attendeance category (I was in it as well), our names were in a raffle and two lucky people got jerseys from Adrian Gonzalez and San Diego Chargers’ Ladainian Tomlinson. I reallly wanted Adrian’s. Unfortunately, I wasn’t one of two people so better luck next time for me!
It’s over
This is certainly not the perfect title for the Padres though. It’s not over for the Padres. And it never will be. There are plenty of games left and I should never hear the words “give up” from myself and the players ’cause that’s the way it’s supposed to be.
I chose the words “it’s over” because my finals are over and I am soo happy right now! (I’m going to Six Flags during school with my ASB tomorrow!) What’s even more great is that we are going the day right after the finals so we can just chill and forget about it. They were my LAST finals as a middle school student. A week from today, I will be graduating promoting and take one step closer to high school. High school scares me. I’m so nervous! But since I’m hear to talk about baseball, I’ll get back to that topic when I actually promote.
Today is an off day, thank goodness. I am not pleasent about my Padres right now. We got swept by the Phillies. Tuesday was a game when the Padres needed a hospital in their club house. They lose more than a game. Padres lost two great players: Jake Peavy and Scott Hairston. Jake only pitched one inning and gave up four runs due to flu, not his bad right ankle. Poor Jakey!
I figured that out as the game progressed because he would normally bark at himself for giving up ton of runs. In this case, he obviously did not do that because he looked very sick. Unfortunately, he’s still fighting against virus.
Scott Hairston in the other hand, is on DL due to strained left biceps. Scotty got hurt when he was at plate, swinging a bat. This is a really sad news especially when a guy like him has been so hot at the plate! To replace Scott, the Padres called up a familiar guy from Triple-A, Will Venable. I remeber this guy so well. To Jake and Scotty, PLEASE get better soon!
By the way, it was Padres’ number 5 pitcher Josh Geer’s birthday on Tuesday. Happy late birthday Josh! He didn’t get the best present however, he replaced Jake in the second inning. Josh didn’t have a great game because he gave up two hits, two earned runs, two walks, and one homerun just in one inning.
On the bright side, our clutch hitter Adrian Gonzalez went deep for 22nd time on that day. It was definitely not enough to get a win because the Phillies just crushed us. I admit. It was an ugly game especially when the final score was 10 to 5 at home. They sent the Padres fans home with a frown.
- Phillies 5 Padres 1
After a rough game on Tuesday, I expected a comeback from my boys. Well I guess I put too much pressure on them and they lost. The sad part was that it was the final game of the three game series. And the perfect words are “swept at home”. Starting pitcher Chris Young deserved the loss by giving up three earned runs and five hits. The big pitch mistake he made was to Ryan Howard. This guy hit a monster two-run shot out to center field.
But Chris is a great hitter as a pitcher by the way.
As the game progressed, Padres trailed five to nothing. Until my hero David Eckstein came up to the plate and told me this.
“Hyun Young, I know how upset you are. And when Raul Ibanez robbed my extra base hits I bet you went crazy. Believe me, I was mad too!”
So I asked him,
“Then what are you going to do?”
He gave me a wise answer with a smile.
“Don’t worry. I got this”
And just like that, Eck drives in a run! But it kind of bummed me because that was the ONLY run of the game for the Padres. But at least they did not get shut down at home this season! Thank you so much David :)
Tomorrow’s game will be a different story. I just know it. We host the D-Backs tomorrow and Chad Guadin is up against Doug Davis. Last outing for Chad was fantastic. He pitched against the Rockies and struck out nine batters. I’m hoping that he would do the same thing again and we will come up with a win and snap our three game losing streak.
Really quick entry
Wow. My last entry was three days ago. Sorry I haven’t been commenting or visting your blogs. Finals are coming tomorrow, actually today for me so I needed to study.
As for the Padres, things were up and down for last three games. Two more games in Colorado was all right and one against the Phillies back home was not so great. On Saturday, we lost because Heath Bell blew his first save of the season and the final score was 8 to 7. Sunday game was pretty good ’cause we didn’t get swept and got back on track.
2008 World Series Champions came to San Diego and things got off to a slow start for the Padres. They were trailing 4 to 1. Starting pitcher Kevin Correia struggled and needed to settle down on the mound.
He needed to leave and the bullpen did a very good job not blowing off. Now Adrian Gonzalez is hitting damn hot right now.

This guy can hit folks. Adrian still leads Majors with 21 homeruns. He is so impressive and I really like how he is playing right now. His “homerun partner” Scott Hairston hit one for himself as well.

What’s funny is that both of these guy each went deep on Saturday and Sunday as well! Besides them, pretty much everyone is not doing so good. Yes, even my boy David Eckstein. His 6-game hitting streak came to an end.
Told you it was going to be quick. So I’m gonna study little more now. Game 2 features Jake Peavy on the mound which is going to be a good game.
Off day thoughts
Off day is a perfect time when I can get caught up with tons of Padres baseball or the sport in general, and talk whatever is on my head. Last night, it was the final game of the three-game series against the D-Backs at Arizona. Jake Peavy was on the mound but didn’t have the best stuff. Jake allowed four runs in 7 innings. Later, I found out that he had a little trouble with his right ankle! Oh man. Thank goodness this isn’t serious. Even with the four runs he allowed, Jake deserved the win.
On the offensive side, my boy David Eckstein was 3 for 4 which included an RBI.
He had a very nice game. Red-hot Adrian Gonzalez hit another homerun, 18th of the year. He leads Major League in homeruns which is outstanding. Way to go man! Keep it up.
I don’t want to get into too much detail of the game ’cause I got other things that I want to talk about. Plus, I’m really tired. To make a long story short, we won 8-5!! Padres are playing the Rockies who are doing not so great, no offense to Colorado fans. Josh Geer for the Padres is set against Rockies’ Jason Marquis. This should be an exciting game to watch.
Eck interview:
After the game, Channel 4 San Diego Padres baseball play-by-play duos Mark Grant and Mark Neely caught up with my boy and had a quick two-minute interview. I really like this part of the interview from Mark, or “Mud” and Eck. Yes, I recorded this to my phone
Mud: Eck, we’ve been trying to think of a nickname. Real quick answers. Yes or no. Bull’s eye.
Eck: Um… That’s ok.
Mud: Pain in the Neckstein.
Eck: (Smiles) I like that one.
Mud: Target.
Eck: Eh, I like the second one better.
I LOVE THIS!!!
Are you serious?
Check this out and you will see why I am a bit upset. WHY IS ADRIAN GONZALEZ NOT ON THE TOP 5?? My goodness. This is frustrating. The fact that’s so strange is that KHALIL GREENE is on the top 5 for NL shortstop category. Basically, Khalil, who is playing so poorly, is getting more votes then Adrian, who leads MLB in homeruns and playing far better then Greenie. I will rely on this though. The result was updated on Tuesday. That’s a good sign ’cause I voted for Adrian 25 times yesterday.

Khalil Greene. He still is my favorite player of all time. Believe me. I still go to Cardinals’ website to check how he is doing. But I do not understand this. This guy is batting .200 and not playing as much as back then. I’m not mad at him or anything. It’s just so weird that a type of player like him is in the top 5. A guy like Adrian should be on the list. Unfortunately, most people are still underestimating him.

Adrian, you the man. Like I said, keep up the good work.
Good sign
As many of you know, my friends at school don’t follow the Padres as much as me. But one of my friends read my blog (’cause that day, I updated on my Twitter to check out my new entry) and he told me today that he never knew I would write this long about the Padres and I’m a good writer. That boosted my energy so it was a good sign.
You know, little by little, my friends are starting to understand of me being a baseball fan and obsessed with the Padres. I like where this is going. The best thing is that two of my teachers enjoy baseball so that way we can have a conversation like this at school everyday.
Seriously?
My boy David Eckstein got hurt yesterday
AHHH! Screw you Carlos Zambrano. He didn’t even come up to him and said sorry! Look how painful he looks!
Zambrano hit Eck’s chest with 91-mph fastball. My baby!!!! He got up like a minute later and got to first base. I clapped for him when he got up as I was watching this on TV. He gave me a great sportsmanship. However, Eck got out of the game with a chest contusion. His x-rays were negative.
Dear Eck,
I really hope you are all right. Watching you get hurt really bummed me. But you are a great guy and I know you can suck it up and don’t make a huge deal of this. I really want to see you back in the lineup tonight. Get well very soon!
Love, Hyun Young
Last two days, (Thursday and Friday) Eck was beaten up! On Thursday, he got knocked to the ground by Giant’s Pablo Sandoval, who was attempting to break a double play. Eck also fouled a ball off his right and left knee. Oh yeah, he even got hit by a pitch in the ninth inning by Brian Wilson. And yesterday made me even more mad. I hate you Zambrano, even if you didn’t mean to, you could have said sorry. Come on man, it was that easy!
On the brighter side, Padres shut down the Cubs, 4 to 0. One of the runs included Adrian’s solo homerun. He still leads major league with 16. Way to go man, keep it up! Pitching wise, Jake dominated the Cubs.
He struck out 10 and allowed only 2 hits in 6 innings. Jake definitely deserved the win and improved his record by 3-5. As all of you guys know, he had to make a choice between stay as a Padre of go to Chicago to be a White Sox. Jake refused the trade and still a Padre. I was so proud of this guy! He truely loves San Diego and he will stay her for awhile. The way he pitch last night was even more amazing. Jake let the “distractions” slip by and got his head in the game. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the quality work of a former CY Young award winner.
My boys now won 7 in a row. Tonight, they are shooting for number 8. Josh Geer is up against Randy Wells. You know, I’m starting to get cocky a little bit by watching the way Padres are playing right now. We are now second place, 8.5 games behind the Dodgers. But I believe in them and I know that they will reach first place again.
Quick entry
I know. I know. I haven’t been blogging. So sorry bout that. But the Padres had a GREAT weekend against the Cincinnati Reds. We swept them! It was awesome. I don’t have time to do huge recaps because I have to study for Algebra (my worst subject) test.
Anyway, ignore the Algebra thing. I would much rather talk about my boys!

-
Reds 5 Padres 6
We were tied until the 16th inning. When I checked the time, it was about twenty minutes after midnight! I fell asleep later in the game and woke up as soon as Nick Hundley stepped up to bat. It was a PERFECT timing ’cause this man hit a walk-off solo homerun towards left field! I wanted to scream so loud but my family were sleeping. So I had to squeal a little as I watched that moment. Oh my godness, it was so awesome! I loved Nick’s reaction. He knew it was gone. Everyone in the game knew. And heck even the Cincinnati dugout knew! So that made my Saturday. Well early Sunday morning.
- Reds 1 Padres 3

Jake Peavy was obviously pumped. He had a complete game yesterday afternoon. Again, it was another exciting game. Jake had his seventh career complete game at downtown San Diego. Special thanks to Kevin Kouzmanoff for run supports. Without him, we would have lost. I was watching this game and I saw my brother’s friend who was sitting right behind homeplate! Well he knows me so that counts.
Tomorrow, Giants come to town and Chris Young for the Padres is up against San Fran’s Barry Zito. I’m already confident we are going to win. Go Padres!!
That’s it for now. Tune into my blog tomorrow for more Padres news, random thoughts, and whatever that’s on my head. Wish me good luck on my all-star mile please
I’m in the top 40 girls on my school and I will be running infront of whole bunch of people which is pretty nervewrecking.
Note:
I am 100% sure that I will be going to the Rockies game in July 18th with Kaybee!
I’ve been saving my money for months just to buy these great tickets. Hopefully Tom and Jen can make it on that day as well
AHHH! I can’t wait already. I will be seeing my boy David Eckstein up close!!!
Before I really get off, San Diego’s Adrian Gonzalez is one of NL’s most underrated player. He should get the attention he deserves because he is a great player and loves to play every single day with a positive attitude. Lot of people are focused on Tim Lincecum, Albert Pujols, Ryan Howard, etc. etc. so I’m getting pretty sick of it. Adrian needs to get more attention!!
